Seasons Change

Today I helped Trish mow the lawn. Well, mostly I just watch but when needed I move my toys out of the way of the mower.
I like this time of the year. Now that it is cooler I can spend more time in my backyard. I enjoy bird watching. Cardinals, black-capped chickadees, woodpeckers, Mourning doves and a whole bunch of little gray or brown birds come into my yard to eat at our bird feeders. Gray squirrels also visit to eat the corn and peanuts we put out. I always chase the squirrels when I first see them dare to enter my yard, but then - being the generous sort that I am - I let them into my yard after all .
After dark, when the birds and squirrels have left, the possums and racoons come out. I really fancy one possum who visits nightly. She sits atop the fence and lets me admire her as she eats the peanuts. One night she even brought her baby with her!
Yes, I really like this time of the year. Leave your comments below and let me know what's your favorite time of the year.
