B is for Bored
24/01/10 07:18
Webster's Dictionary defines the word bored as:
"Feeling weary because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one's current activity."
Is it just me or does that sound like crazy talk?! As a dog, I am NEVER unoccupied. How could I be, there are just so many things to do! And to lack interest in an activity........I can't even imagine that. EVERYTHING is interesting to me!
On any given day I have to monitor the health and wellbeing of my people, patrol the backyard for intruders, walk through the neighborhood to make sure there are no issues, entertain and educate Truman the puppy and all this is just for 9:00 a.m.! I won't BORE you with the rest of my daily schedule. HA! See how I used this week's world in a sentence?!
What I am trying to say is this - if you are bored maybe you should try to be more like a dog. Find interest, fun and potential in each and every moment and don't even allow the word bored in your word list.
Until next week....

B is for Beauty
18/01/10 13:38
I have often been told that I am good looking; that I am a beauty.
What is beauty? Is it, as someone said, in the eyes of the beholder?
I see beauty in many things, every day. I find beauty in:
I could go on and on but I would rather hear what you think has beauty.
Tell me in the comment section below.
Until next week -

I see beauty in many things, every day. I find beauty in:
- a full bowl of kibble
- a brand new tennis ball
- a well worn tennis ball
- my yard the first thing in the morning when the grass is still moist
- snow, snow, and more snow
- the people I meet at book events
- Truman when he is asleep and not bothering me
I could go on and on but I would rather hear what you think has beauty.

A is for Age
10/01/10 09:34
I have been thinking a lot about age lately, since Truman, my new puppy brother, joined the family a month ago.
Truman is young, he counts his age in weeks. Which makes me feel old because I count my age in years.
With age comes responsibilities. I am not allowed to chew up my toys, nip at people, jump on things, or not come when I am called. Truman seems to be allowed to do all these things.
But age also has benefits. I am allowed to go anywhere in the house I wish, anytime I wish. I can take long walks and go bye-byes. I go to schools to meet children who read my book. Truman cannot do any of these things because he is too young.
So it seems to me that every age has plusses and minuses. Perhaps the best thing to do is to enjoy every minute of the age you are right now!

A is for Attitude
02/01/10 04:25
As we start 2010 I believe it is important to begin the new year with a good attitude.
What is attitude? To me it is the way you look at the world and life. I myself have a snappy, happy attitude..........that means being positive with just a bit of spunk thrown in for good measure.
I encourage you to find your best attitude, practice it every day, and see how much better everything is when you look at the world in a positive way.
Let me know in the comment section below how you would define YOUR attitude.
See you soon for my next word of the week!
