NO! is a word I hear often. For the first year of my life I thought my name was NO! Dill.

NO! tells us not to do something......like roll on the stinky dead salmon on the beach. NO! tells us we are not getting something.......like no cookie.

I didn't like the word NO! until I realized that most of the time I hear it, it is for my own good.
As an example:
If I had rolled on that stinky dead salmon on the beach, I too would be stinky. And THAT means a bath. Shudder.
If I got a cookie every time I wanted one, I would be overweight and that would mean I couldn't run as fast on the beach.

So I guess, NO! in small doses and when used appropriately, is an okay word.

Can you guess who/what our mascot is? He appears in every one of our books and appears as my sidekick in KID CANINE - SUPERHERO!

Our mascot is.....drum roll please.......Squirrel!!!! I love to watch (and chase!) squirrels, so we thought it might be fun to feature a squirrel in our first book. Then he appeared in the second book.....and third book......and a mascot was born!

So whenever you pick up a book by Black Plume Books, be sure to look for the squirrel.
